Making my radio ad and use of software.
To create my radio advertisement I used Audacity v.1.2.4
This involved layering tracks to make my advert. I selected a section of a music track that I wanted to use and I also used a mircophone to record my voice reading the script I had devised for my ad.
Planning for task.
Throughout the duration of the task I have been comparing my work to national and local newspapers. I have compared and looked at various exmaples of posters and radio adverts in order to help me with this task.
Listening to local radio shows and the types of adverts that they broadcast helped me to think about what I would need to incorperate ideas into my work.
This was very useful when writing out the script for my promotional radio advert, I decided that I would need a short, simple and a advert that grabs the listeners attention.
I have also decided to incorperate a serperate audio track behind the speech in my advert.
For my poster, I made 2 different designs which I showed to peers in my group and they decided upon what would be more eye catching and appealing, yet also fitting in with the special edition theme of my newspaper. I chose to focus on typical colours associated with Valentines Days such as; red, pink and using images such as hearts and flowers.

Making a Radio Ad
In addition to making my promotional poster for my coursework to go with my newspaper, I am also making a promotional radio advertisement. I started to make this by first of all researching and thinking about advertisements for newspapers that I had already heard, I then thought about what would be best to include in my advertisement and what would sound catchy yet simple enough for a local radio station to use.
I then wrote a short script of what I would say in my advertisement. After practicing this and making sure it lasted between ten and fifteen seconds I recorded it. To record it I used a microphone which I spoke clearly into. I decided however, that it would be effective if I used an audio track in the background of my advert.
When I combined these two together making sure the audio levels were right, I had my finished radio advert.

Research
I have made a questionnaire to try and find out what would be most useful to include in my newspaper and what would attract readers. I asked three people of different ages to answer them and I recorded the data down. I then brainstormed ideas about what I would need to incldue and made a list of what would be good to include.
I have decided to aim my newspaper to be published around the time of valentines to give my newspaper a theme and focal point.
I have then made a storyboard to plan out what I will plan out.
I also annotated the different types of newspapers such as national and local newspaper and decided what I wanted to include in my own work.

New Plans
My original plan was to make a music video, promotional poster and design a dvd cover for my A2 coursework. After completeing the poster and dvd cover I made plans to start my video and began plannig when to shoot some fo the video. There was a problem however, I could not find people who were willing to be a part of my video. After 2months of searchign for people to breifly act I stillc ould not find anybody.
After thinking very carefulyl about what I could do to ensure that I would be able to complete my courwork within the set time period I have I came to the conclusion that the plausible thing to do would be to make a local newspaper and a short radio advertisement. This way I would be able to do all of the work myself and not rely on others to help with my work.
I have approximately 4 and a hald weeks to finish this task and so I am using my free time to complete the work.
So far I have looked over various newspaper, written about the content of a news paper and annotated the front of a local newspaper.
Next I plan on using Adobe InDesign to start making my own newspaper.
